How laser hair removal reviews stack up with trends for men in the Frederick area

For centuries, Men and women alike have followed trends. Trends apply to everything from clothing to music to hair removal. When we think of hair removal, we may contemplate only the obvious areas. Men find it necessary to groom the hair on their face, and that is where it ends – or is it? The truth is that for many men, hair removal on other areas such as the back, legs, chest, arms, ears, eyebrows, and even the toes makes sense. Shaving is not the only form of hair removal considered by men striving to achieve their ideal appearance.

Waxing and sugaring

Waxing is a trend that consists of the application of hot wax onto the area in which hair is to be removed. Areas large and small can be treated with waxing, in which the applied wax is covered with a soft paper, which is subsequently ripped off, taking hair and root along with it. Sugaring is essentially the same as waxing, and has been around since ancient Egypt.

Waxing is offered in medspas, and can be done at home using a kit, although this is not recommended for the faint of heart. Waxing is not a comfortable method of hair removal, regardless of what area is treated. The benefit of waxing, if there is one, is that hair often grows back thinner after many treatments.

Tweezing

Taking a pair of high quality tweezers to rogue hairs in the eyebrow area, the ears, neck, or nose, makes sense in many cases. Tweezing, however, is not suitable for larger areas of unwanted hair, such as the back or chest. Additionally, if the whole hair does not pull out then a folliculitis may appear.

Shaving

Shaving seems to be the most common male activity when it comes to removing unwanted hair. Because shaving simply cuts hair at the surface, this practice must be performed daily to maintain smooth, clean skin. Due to the frequency of shaving, skin can become irritated and bumpy, increasing the risk of nicks and cuts. Additionally, due to the friction of shaving or hair thickness or angle, skin can become irritated.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a form of hair removal where each hair is manually heated and removed. The procedure is painful, tedious and time consuming. It is beneficial for white or gray hairs that cannot be treated with laser.

Laser hair removal reviews

Patients of our Frederick dermatology practice can benefit from what reviews call “the mother of all hair removal options” achieving the kind of permanent results that free them up to enjoy more important things. Laser hair removal takes place in a series of treatments, each of which directs laser light into the hair follicles, where it is absorbed by existing hairs. The hairs are removed quickly, often with little discomfort. Treating the hair follicles with laser light renders them incapable of producing new hairs, which equals long-term results.
